Seattle Relief Fund application to open next week!

 

City of Seattle to launch application for one-time financial aid program for low-income Seattle residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic

On Monday, October 25, 2021, the City of Seattle will launch the Seattle Relief Fund, a program offering one-time financial assistance to eligible Seattle residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. A few important details below:

  • You can apply to the Seattle Relief Fund if you are low-income AND if you or a member of your household:
    • Is a Seattle Public Schools student
      OR
    • Is an artist/cultural worker with an art studio/rehearsal space in Seattle

 

  • Funds are available to eligible applicants even if they are undocumented. Recipients of the 2020 Seattle COVID-19 Disaster Relief Fund for Immigrants financial aid are NOT eligible.

 

  • The application will only be available online. Community-based organizations will be able to help applicants over the phone and even in-person to complete the online form for individuals who have accessibility issues or language access issues.

 

  • The online application will be available in seven languages other than English: Amharic, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Somali, Spanish, Tagalog/Filipino, and Vietnamese.

 

  • The review process is NOT first-come, first-served. To support those with the most need, the program is prioritizing applicants based on a set of vulnerability criteria.

 

  • Eligible adult applicants filing for themselves will be able to receive a one-time payment of $1,000. Applicants with dependent children will be eligible to receive a one-time payment of up to $3,000.

 

  • All applicants will be required to submit documents that confirm their identities and connections to Seattle.

 

  • The application will be open from Monday, October 25, 2021 to Monday, November 15, 2021 (three weeks).
